Changing two generations at once
The greatest impact we can have on that child is by loving his or her mom. Transformation begins with the mom’s identity. Her whole life she may have been taught that she is worthless, that her pain doesn’t matter, that she’s a throw-away. If that mom believes that God doesn’t love her, that it would have been better if she was never born, or that she is worthless, she may raise her child to feel the same.
But if she begins to believe that she is valuable enough for God to send His only Son to save her, that her life has a God-given purpose, that she is created for good, is chosen, honored, and cherished, she will raise her child to believe the same. This is how we change two generations at one time.
